Educational ActivitiesEducation is a primary focus of NTEA’s outreach to the horsemanship community. Each year NTEA sponsors and/or organizes equine educational programs, demonstrations, schooling days, clinics, speakers and/or workshops. Many of these activities are free or low cost, and most are either limited to “Members-only” or they provide generous discounts to NTEA members. Some recent educational activities:
2008
- Instructor Certification Program jumping workshop at Quail Run Farm, the first such workshop to be held in USEA Area V (a four-state area)
2010
- Australian Olympic silver medalists, Clayton & Lucinda Fredericks, to North Texas for a three-day clinic at Denton Creek Farms
- members-only free youth Open Schooling Day at Texas Rose Horse Park
2011
- low cost public workshop called “Introduction to Eventing” with local trainers Kim and Jody Taylor
- free educational seminars at local schooling days
- low cost members-only Dressage Ride-A-Test
- low cost members-only clinic with ICP Level IV trainer Mike Huber at Gold Chip Stables
2012

Social Activities
- NTEA hosts Members-only socials at area horse trials throughout the year, as well as a renowned Year-End Awards Gala each January.
The Year-End Awards Gala is a great time of fun and fellowship. The local eventing community joins hands to recognize our most outstanding youth and adult members.

- High-Point Competition awards are given for both schooling show and USEA-recognized categories.
- Outstanding Service (adult) and Outstanding Sportsmanship (youth) awards are presented to special members who give their time and great spirit.
- We also raise money for our programs through large silent and live auctions.
- Educational scholarship awards are presented to qualified members based on a competitive application process.
