Honoring Exceptional Contributions to Eventing

Al Smith Award for Outstanding Service

The Al Smith Award recognizes an adult NTEA member (22 years of age or older) who demonstrates outstanding enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and dedicated service to the sport of eventing. Previous award recipients are not eligible.

Award Benefits:

  • A commemorative plaque presented at the Awards Banquet.
  • A $500 grant to be used for personal equestrian education, with a preference for eventing-related development.

Eligibility:

  • Nominees must be current NTEA members.
  • Nominees must be 22 years of age or older.

Selection Process:

The Scholarship and Awards Committee will review all nominations and forward a recommendation to the Board. The Board will then select the award recipient.

Recognizing Outstanding Youth in Eventing

C.L. McDaniel "Earn Your Spurs" Award

The C.L. McDaniel "Earn Your Spurs" Award recognizes a youth NTEA member (ages 13-21) who exemplifies exceptional horsemanship, sportsmanship, a positive attitude, integrity, a strong work ethic, service to others, and teamwork within the eventing community. Previous award recipients are not eligible.

Award Benefits:

  • A set of spurs presented in an engraved box at the Awards Banquet.
  • A $500 grant to be used for personal equestrian education, with a preference for eventing-related development.

Eligibility:

  • Nominees must be current NTEA members.
  • Nominees must be between the ages of 13 and 21.

Selection Process:

Financial Support for Business Professionals

ECP Support

The North Texas Eventing Association (NTEA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce a financial support initiative for business professionals seeking their ECP (formerly ICP) certification.

NTEA will award up to $250 to a maximum of five qualified applicants to be applied towards their ECP certification fees.

Interested individuals are invited to apply by emailing info@nteventing.org with documentation confirming completion of the relevant clinic or symposium.
